About Marginalia

Marginalia is a small, slow blog about the craft behind creative work: drafting, editing, reading properly, and the deeply unfashionable business of finishing things.
There is no schedule and no newsletter funnel. Pieces get published when they are ready, which is usually a few weeks apart and occasionally longer. Each one is short enough to read in a single sitting with a cup of something.
What you will find here
Notes rather than tutorials. Nothing here promises a system, a framework or a productivity gain. The recurring theme is simply that good work comes from ordinary habits repeated for longer than feels reasonable.
If a piece is useful, the best thing you can do with it is close the tab and go write your own bad first draft.
